For the third year, GAD3 is working with CSL Seqirus to study Spanish society’s perception of influenza vaccination.
Research according to the Observatorio de vacunación antigripal en España 2023 shows that the lack of recommendation or prescription by medical staff (66.3%) is the main argument for not getting vaccinated. In addition, more than 80% believe that they do not have enough information to consider vaccination necessary. Furthermore, only 44% of the Spanish population intends to be vaccinated against influenza this year, a figure five percentage points lower than last year. In parallel to this, respondents say that the media is the main channel through which they receive information on this topic.
Among the statements made by the Observatory of influenza vaccination in Spain 2023, it is worth noting that almost 40% of citizens are trivialising this disease, thinking that it is not a serious virus.
