Álvaro Gallego

Research consultant

My professional experience began as a call center pollster, which gave me firsthand knowledge of the data collection process. Today, at GAD3, I work as a quantitative research consultant, participating in CATI and CAWI studies, where I collaborate in the design and execution of surveys, as well as in the analysis and management of projects. My approach combines attention to technical detail with a critical reading of the data, so that each number tells a useful and transformative story.

I graduated in Political Science and Sociology from Carlos III University in Madrid, and completed a Master’s Degree in Sociology Applied to Social Problems at Complutense University. I have focused my career on social analysis from a rigorous perspective, with an interest in how urban dynamics impact our lives. During my academic career, I specialized in urban sociology. Since then, I have delved deeper into how urban design and architecture influence social relations, behavior, and quality of life.

I speak English fluently and have a basic knowledge of German. I am interested in continuing to grow as a quantitative research consultant applied to social issues, especially those related to urban space, citizen participation, and territorial inequalities.

When I’m not working with Excel and data matrices, you’ll find me on the court: I play on a municipal league basketball team, and I’m a huge NBA fan. Sports help me stay focused and release tension, although I also like to lose myself in my headphones listening to hip hop, especially Cruz Cafuné. In my movie-watching moments, I let myself be guided by the symmetrical, eccentric, and colorful worlds of Wes Anderson, my favorite director. I believe that data also has a rhythm, and my job is to listen to it.
