The event was opened by Tomás Barreto, President of the Canary Islands Family Business Association (EFCA), who highlighted the essential role played by business owners in today’s society. Barreto noted that, despite their contribution to economic and social development, certain groups continue to hold a negative perception of business owners. In this context, he underlined the importance of the Barometer, which provides an objective, data-driven view of the work and impact that family businesses generate in society.
