- The head of research and consultancy, Itziar Francín, presented the results of the study “Spanish society’s opinion and perception of the flu” at the first Flu vaccination observatory in Spain.
- During her intervention, Itziar Francín assessed the level of previous influenza vaccination in Spanish society and the main motivations that lead Spaniards to have been vaccinated.
This Tuesday, Itziar Francín presented the main conclusions of the Study on flu vaccination and acknowledged that the role of healthcare personnel is fundamental, as they are the main means of information among Spaniards about the flu vaccination campaign.
In addition, she highlighted the percentage of the population at risk that intends to be vaccinated against the flu this year: almost 80% of people over 65 years of age. The pandemic has contributed to an increase in flu vaccination this year, and also in its perception.
Some measures, such as providing easier access to Primary Care Centres, sending annual reminders via SMS, an awareness campaign in the media or the creation of vaccination centres, are demanded by Spanish society in order to have more and better information.
